Cookie of the Week and Beyond: How Food Brings Our St. Albert Senior Community Together

container of 'cookie-of-the-week' - senior living no bundled fees Alberta

Every week at Three Robins Riverside, a fresh batch of cookies appears in the community lounge. The flavour changes each time, and guessing what it will be has become a running game among residents.

It is a small thing, but it captures something important about life here: the best moments of community often happen around food.

The Social Power of the Food Club

But cookies are just the beginning. The Food Club is one of the most popular resident activities at Three Robins, and it reflects something the community believes deeply: food is one of the most powerful tools for building connection. Whether residents are swapping family recipes, learning new techniques in the demonstration kitchen, or sitting down for a shared lunch, every meal becomes an opportunity for friendship.

Dining Freedom: No Mandatory Meal Plans

The Lunch Food Club offers regular communal meals where residents come together around a table, not because they have to, but because they want to. Unlike many other options, we offer senior living with no bundled fees in Alberta. This means there are no mandatory meal plans at Three Robins. Every suite comes with a full kitchen and stainless steel appliances, so residents cook for themselves whenever they choose. When they want company, the community dining room and demonstration kitchen are ready and waiting. The demonstration kitchen is large enough to host up to twenty family members and friends for a meal, making it perfect for holiday gatherings, birthday dinners, or simply cooking with neighbours.

For those who enjoy a glass of wine with good conversation, the Wine Club adds another social layer.

Flexible Support When You Need It

For residents who prefer to have meals prepared for them on certain days, our optional à la carte meal planning service means support is always available without being required. This flexibility is central to the Three Robins philosophy. Independent senior living should mean exactly that—independence—with community available whenever you want it.

Our food programs are designed to nourish both body and spirit, creating the kind of everyday moments that make a house feel like home.
